Since 2012, LONGi has invested a total of 22 billion yuan in R&D for scientific research, obtained more than 2,500 special projects of various kinds, and refreshed the world record for photovoltaic conversion efficiency of solar cells more than ten times.
Through scientific and technological R&D and innovation, LONGi Green Energy has become the world record holder of crystalline silicon single-junction cells and crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem cells. Among them, it has developed Terui silicon wafers with superior electrical and mechanical properties, produced high-efficiency photovoltaic module products for different use scenarios, helped more regions use clean energy, enriched application scenarios, and contributed to global green and low-carbon development. Developed fluorine-free solar backsheets to reduce the use of fluorine and pollution; At the same time, the product recycling standard is improved, and the recycling rate of its photovoltaic cell products can reach 100%.
At the same time, LONGi Green Energy has achieved 100% visibility of customer order status by building an online platform for visualization of the whole process of transportation status, and has carried out the integrated construction of logistics warehouse network, adopted the model of “overseas railway-offshore barge-inland water transport-cross-strait ferry”, reached strategic cooperation with ports and logistics enterprises, efficiently deployed multiple resources, replaced warehouses with containers, improved resource utilization efficiency, and built a sustainable, intelligent and information-based green logistics system.
It is reported that LONGi Green Energy has built the first “zero-carbon factory” in the photovoltaic industry at its Baoshan production base in Yunnan. By the end of 2023, LONGi’s cumulative wafer shipments reached 414.24 GW, accounting for 27% of the world’s cumulative installed PV capacity, which can generate 1,736.1 billion kWh of green electricity, equivalent to reducing 812 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. According to statistics, more than 30% of the silicon wafers of all installed solar power systems in the world come from LONGi Green Energy.

Expand the green energy ecosystem

Today, LONGi Green Energy has gradually grown into the largest private enterprise in Shaanxi Province, not only carrying the banner of integrating into the national strategy, basing itself on the industry, and promoting green development, but also actively expanding foreign cooperation and continuously integrating into the global industrial chain value chain.
In 2018, at the 24th United Nations Climate Change Conference, LONGi Green Energy first proposed the concept of “Solar for Solar”, that is, to use “clean energy (solar energy)” to manufacture “clean energy (electricity)”. Since 2020, LONGi has successively joined international carbon reduction organizations such as RE100, EP100, EV100, and SBTi, becoming the first Chinese enterprise to join four international initiatives at the same time. Since joining the Science Based Targets (SBTi) initiative, LONGi Green Energy has established a greenhouse gas emission accounting system covering the whole value chain of the SBTi initiative, and simulates the trend of emissions under different scenarios in the future according to the SBTi setting method, and proposes emission reduction targets that meet the requirements of the SBTi and adapt to the development stage of the enterprise. In 2023, LONGi Green Energy officially passed the SBTi audit and certification, becoming the first enterprise in China’s photovoltaic industry to obtain this audit certification.
